Dana Chooses Graphic Medical Book Club Book Based on Polling Results

Dana Medical Library participated in the LCOM Class of 2022 Orientation, staffing a table at the Resource and Student Interest Group (SIG) Fair. We asked for your help deciding the next title for our Graphic Medicine Book Club… and the results are in!

After a very close vote, it turns out that Marbles: Mania, Depression, Michelangelo and Me by Ellen Forney is the winner with 23 votes!  Is it the brightly colored book cover, or the fact that we used marbles as our voting device subtly effecting the results?  Either way, we are excited to have a discussion about this unique title at our next Graphic Medicine Book Club meeting scheduled for October 9th at Noon. Come join us for a fascinating discussion! RSVP to Alice Stokes. Copies of Marbles are available to borrow through the library.

Full poll results show that The Bad Doctor: The Troubled Life and Times of Dr. Iwan James a close second with 21 votes, while Rosalie Lightning got 5 votes and both Pedro & Me and Can’t We Talk About Something More Pleasant? earned 4 votes each.  These titles are all available for check out from the Dana Medical Library.

For questions about the Graphic Medicine Book Club feel free to reach out to Alice Stokes at 656-4386.
