Due to building access restrictions related to COVID-19, Dana Medical Library is currently only open to UVM faculty, staff, and students with active CATcards, and to employees of the University of Vermont Medical Center. Curbside Service is available for other users who cannot or prefer not to visit the library in person at this time.
There are still some services available that do not require coming into the library.
Health Research Associate program
Our Health Research Associate (HRA) program allows individuals and organizations not affiliated with UVM to sign up for specific information resources and research services. Several levels of membership are available.
- HRA Services, Categories, and Fee Schedules
- Interlibrary Loan / Document Delivery Request Form (for current members)
Contact Alice Stokes for questions relating to Health Research Associate membership categories and fees, or to set up a membership, at (802) 656-4386 or Alice.Stokes@uvm.edu.
One-Time Document Delivery
Order a single article or book chapter at $35.00 per item fee (this includes a $10.00 administrative fee). Email the Dana Library Document Delivery department at danadd@uvm.edu or call the Dana Library Document Delivery Department at (802) 656-4382.
If you plan to use this service frequently, an articles-only HRA membership may be cheaper in the long run.
Other options
Your local public library may be able to obtain books and journal articles for you through the Interlibrary Loan service. Check with them for policies and fees. Many libraries around the country halted the lending of print materials through Interlibrary Loan during the COVID crisis, and services may still be disrupted or not entirely back to normal.
